DIY Zombie Sisters
Step-By-Step

How To:

Find two barbie dolls. You can either buy them new (dollar stores sell them) or use old dolls that are not longer being used.

The BEFORE PICTURE:

Spray paint or hand paint your dolls with paint. We used gray because that is what we had on hand.
You can use beige, tan, gray, or a mixture. You can paint by hand using acrylic paint and mix different colors together if you don't have
the exact color. (White and black to make gray, etc.)

If you wish your dolls hair to remain it's true color, cover it. We used painters tape and plastic wrap.

We originally covered the eyes as well. But later used white clay on the eyes.

For one of the zombie sisters we made a clay brain.
Use a marble (or something else round that can be baked.. or opt not to bake your clay at all and simply make the brain mold by hand)
First I covered over half of the marble with clay. Then I rolled out a long thin piece of clay and started in the center of the brain, Front to back.
You can actually find plenty of tutorials on how to make a clay brain. I make up my own brain based on tutorials I found.

I started with beige clay (tan) and then used pastels to lightly coat the brain with red - pink - overtones, to make it look "bloody"

We made a leg bone out of clay and encased it in gray clay
We also made a flesh wound out of gray and painted it with red.

Then I made an easy flesh wound by printing out a picture of a wound from the computer
Again, I used the gray clay to blend around the wound.

For the other doll we used a dollar store skeleton and tore off the bone. Used gray clay to blend it in.
Then we detailed it with paint. On the right you'll see the flesh wound made out of clay.

For the brain, I cut off some of the dolls hair, and then cut a hole in the head and place the brain inside.
Then I used gray and red paint for more gore. I also used white and black clay for the eyes and eyebrows.

For the exposed jawbone and teeth I used a picture printed from the computer
Added clay and paint for detail.

For one doll we used the original clothing and spray painted it black. For the other we used scrap materials from an old shirt.
